Moor Cottage
Moor Cottage – with panoramic views over Lough Swilly – has 4 spacious bedrooms and is situated on an elevated site – approximately 1.5 miles outside the historic seaside village of Rathmullan. The cottage is suited to families with babies and small children as well as catering for the needs of the elderly and the disabled. The luxury cottage has four bedrooms and can comfortably sleep 8 people. The well-appointed lounge has a turf burning fire. There is also full central heating and every modern convenience provided. Guests provide their own towels.
Situated midway on the western shore of Lough Swilly, Rathmullan is a good base for exploring this beautiful area. There are pleasant walks and drives in the area including Kinnegar and Rathmullan Woods.
There are a also a number of beautiful and idyllic beaches within easy reach of the cottage. There is excellent fishing for wild brown trout and salmon in the area, and, for the more adventurous, deep-sea fishing is available.
The arrival of the Summer ferry has also made the hidden treasures of Northern Donegal easily accessible from Rathmullan. There are four high-quality golf courses nearby. The village also owns two first-class sea fishing boats available for hire through Rathmullan Charters for fishing (with some excellent mackerel fishing in the lough this is a remarkable day out) or simply sightseeing on the lough. Rathmullan Festival runs over the first weekend in August and caters to the whole family.
